# What readability grade should I aim for?

When thinking about the readability of your copy, think first about who will be reading it. You want to ensure as many people in your target audience can understand it.  
  
A science paper will have a higher reading age than a government website. However, they both have one thing in common. The more readable and accessible you make the copy, the more people are able to digest it.
